「Mariposa」スー・リオ ドラム型ドライセル（Drum Dry Cell） 外観に宿る、圧倒的な「蝶」の存在感 タイトルの『Mariposa（マリポサ）』とは、スペイン語で「蝶」を意味する言葉。 空のように澄んだコバルトブルーのガラスのボディに、角度によってオーロラのような虹色の輝きを放つ「イリディッセントガラス」の大きな蝶の羽が存在感を放ちます。 外観を彩る大きなドラムには、色とりどりのガラスが隙間なく敷き詰められており、これから出会うイメージへの期待感は高まります。 一つの作品に宿る二つの「鏡の深淵」 スー・リオが手がける箱型万華鏡の真骨頂は、大きく贅沢にとられたミラー面積が生み出す、深い没入感にあります。本作は上下に二つのアイホール（覗き口）を備えており、それぞれが全く異なる光の宇宙を見せてくれます。 上部：3ミラー（3-point） 三角形のアイホールからは、万華鏡の原点とも言える正三角形の連続模様が美しく広がり、緻密でリズミカルな世界へ誘います。 下部：2ミラー（12-point） 大きく開口されたアイホールからは、漆黒の空間に浮かび上がる特大級の円形模様（12角形の大輪）が映し出され、見る者を圧倒します。 手にするたび、気分を鮮やかに変えてくれる 大きなドラムは指先でほんの少し動かすだけでも、模様や色彩が変化します。 手に持って覗くもよし、テーブルの上に置いたままでも覗くことができるパーラー型の万華鏡です。 "Mariposa" by Sue Rioux Drum Dry Cell An Overwhelming Presence of the "Butterfly" in Exterior Design The title "Mariposa" means "butterfly" in Spanish. On the cobalt blue glass body, which evokes a clear, open sky, a large butterfly wing made of iridescent glass radiates a captivating presence, shimmering in aurora-like rainbow hues depending on the angle of the light. The large drum adorning the exterior is meticulously packed with a vibrant mosaic of colored glass, heightening the viewer's anticipation for the visual wonders awaiting inside.
