溝口朋瑛 『夜風（よかぜ）』 街の気配と心地よい風を纏う、夜の静けさのもう一つの物語。 個性的な造形で万華鏡の新たな地平を切り拓く作家、溝口朋瑛さん。カットされたガラスパネルを精密に積層する彼女のスタイルには、大きく分けて「鼓型」と「螺旋型」という2つのデザインが存在します。 本作『夜風』は、パネルを少しずつ角度をずらしながら重ね合わせた【螺旋型】の意欲作。見る角度や置く向きによってシルエットが変化し、まるで目に見えない「夜風」の流れそのものを小さな立体に閉じ込めたかのようです。 前作『小夜（さよ）』が陽が沈みきる直前の静寂を描いた7ポイントであったのに対し、本作ではポイント数が「6」へと変わりました。幾何学的により整然とした、力強い円形 mandala を描き出します。 作家自身が語るコンセプトは、まだ人の往来が残る時間帯の、肌で触れる空気や香り。 「風が心地よい日もあれば、何も思わない日もある。草木の香りに励まされたり、街灯を眩しく感じたり。そんな夜の空気をイメージしました。」 全体は落ち着いた深みのある色彩で構成されながらも、ふとした瞬間に可憐な色彩がひょっこりと顔を出します。計算された光のコントラストの中に混ざり合うその「たまに見える可愛い色」が、夜風に揺れる街灯や草木の香りのように、覗く人の心へ優しく寄り添います。 闇へ沈みきる静寂の『小夜』に対し、風を感じ、日々の感情を包み込んでくれる『夜風』。 より小さなボディに閉じ込められた、情緒あふれる光の散歩道をお楽しみください。 "Yokaze" (Night Breeze) by Tomoe Mizoguchi Another Story of the Night, Enfolded in the Whispers of the City and a Gentle Breeze Artist Tomoe Mizoguchi continues to open new horizons in kaleidoscope art through her unique sculptural forms. Her signature technique of meticulously stacking cut glass panels encompasses two distinct design signatures: the "hourglass" shape and the "spiral" shape. Yokaze stands as an ambitious creation of her [Spiral Form], crafted by incrementally shifting the angle of each stacked panel. The silhouette transforms depending on the viewing angle, as if capturing the fluid, invisible movement of a "night breeze" within a compact three-dimensional form. While her previous work Sayo captured the stillness just before darkness in a 7-point mirror system, Yokaze shifts to a 6-point system, producing a more geometrically balanced and powerful circular mandala. The artist describes her concept as the tactile air and subtle scents of the night while human presence still lingers in the streets: "I imagined the atmosphere of a night when people are still out and about. Some days the breeze feels soothing, other days you pass by without a thought. Sometimes you are uplifted by the scent of trees and plants, or mesmerized by the glare of streetlights." While the overall palette is composed of serene, grounded colors, playful pops of lovely color unexpectedly emerge from time to time. Like a streetlamp flickering in the night breeze or a sudden breath of fresh air, these charming flashes of light gently comfort the viewer's heart. If Sayo captured the stillness just before complete darkness, Yokaze invites you to feel the movement of the air and embrace your everyday emotions.
