The title Aka derives from Akashi (meaning "bright"), which is the linguistic root of the Japanese word for red. Artist’s Comment: “I created a piece that allows you to fully enjoy the beauty of red. Its title comes from 'Akashi' (bright), the origin of the word for red. I used translucent red glass on the sides of the object case, so when light hits it, the image is infused with red. You can enjoy a variety of expressions depending on the angle. Please give it a try.” The true charm of this piece lies in how dramatically its impression shifts depending on how light enters. Drawing light through the translucent red glass surrounding the sides infuses the entire view with a dreamy red, creating a world of quiet passion.
