マーク・ティクル作 『Fiesta!（祝祭）』 シンプルなフォルムのハンドタイプ万華鏡に、鮮やかな“アルコールインクアート”を取り入れたマーク・ティクルの意欲作『Fiesta!（祝祭）』です。 様々なインクが流れ、混じり合いながら自然に広がる色彩は情熱的で、まさに祝祭のエネルギーそのものです。 本作の真骨頂は、マーク自身が『すべての角にパーティーがある』と語る、30度-60度-90度のミラー配置にあり！ 一歩中を覗くと、視界は明るく鮮明で、六角形の連続パターンが目の前に広がります。 ガラスオブジェクトのグリーン、ブルー、イエローは主張しすぎることなく調和し、英国育ちのティクルならではの上品な色彩センスを窺わせます。 さらに、ミルフィオリやタイルが小気味よいアクセントとなり、視覚的な楽しさを高めています。 —作家マーク・ティクルからのメッセージ— この万華鏡を覗くたびに、頭に浮かぶのはパーティーの光景です。 30度-60度-90度のミラー配置により、三角形の各頂点にそれぞれ異なるマンダラが現れます。 90度の角には4つ、60度の角には3つ、30度の角には6つの頂点を持つマンダラが生まれ、この3つが絡み合い互いに作用し合う様子は、パーティーに集まるさまざまな個性の出会いそのもの。それが「Fiesta!」という名前の由来です。 まさに、すべての角にパーティーがある――そんな万華鏡です。 このミラーシステムが珍しいのは、ちょうど良いバランスに仕上げることが非常に難しいためです。 そこで私は、ミラーの厚みの余裕分まで含めた、正確な幅を導き出すための計算式を考案しました。 a = a b = a + m c = c + 2m a、b、c はそれぞれ三角形の辺の長さで、c が斜辺。m はミラーの厚みです。 さあ、Fiesta! をお楽しみください！ “Fiesta! (Celebration)” by Marc Tickle “Fiesta! (Celebration)” is an ambitious creation by Marc Tickle, featuring vibrant alcohol ink art on a beautifully simple, hand-held kaleidoscope body. The various inks flow, blend, and naturally expand into a passionate array of colors that truly embody the very energy of a festive celebration. The true crown jewel of this piece lies in its 30-60-90 degree mirror system, inspired by Marc's own words: "Every corner has a party!" Gazing inside, the view is bright and crystal-clear, opening up to a sweeping, continuous hexagonal pattern. The green, blue, and yellow glass objects harmonize flawlessly without overpowering one another, showcasing the refined color sensibility unique to Tickle's British upbringing. Furthermore, elements of millefiori and tiles provide a delightful accent, elevating the visual joy of the experience. — A Message from Artist Marc Tickle — Fiesta! This kaleidoscope’s image truly makes me think of a party whenever I look at it. Because the mirror system is a 30,60,90 assembly, each point of this triangle gives a different mandala in each corner. 4-points in the 90 degree corner, 3 points in the 60 degree corner and 6 points in the 30 degree corner. This interplay and subsequent interaction of all three mandals looks like the different personalities we have in social gatherings or at parties, hence the name Fiesta! Literally a party in every corner. This mirror system is quite rare because it is difficult to get it just right. I came up with a formula that allows me to calculate the precise width of the mirrors, including the allowance for the mirror thickness. The formula is thus: a = a b = a + m c = c + 2m a, b, and c are the leg lengths of the triangle, c being the hypotenuse. m is the thickness of the mirror.
