「Iris Wood_a」 ガラスアーティスト・佐藤元洋氏の代表作「Iris（アイリス）」が持つ、あの繊細なガラスの揺らぎや色彩の美しさを、高林千稔氏があえて対極にある「木」という素材で表現した特別なコラボレーション作品です。 煌びやかなガラスのボディーとは対照的に、木の「温もりと豊かな質感」を纏うことで、作品のまとう空気感をガラリと変えたもう一つのアイリス。 佐藤元洋さんのガラスオブジェクトが生み出す、水を含んだような瑞々しい色彩も、このシックな木肌と見事に調和し、より深く重厚な存在感を放ちます。 ボディーを彩る木材には、神秘的な緑褐色をもつパロサント、深い赤みのブビンガ、 tender なレッドオークのラインが贅沢にあしらわれています。 ぜひ、本体ごとゆっくりと回転させながら、3つの木々が織りなす表情の移り変わりをお愉しみください。 アメリカの偉大な作家であったシェリー＆ランディ・ナップ夫妻のもとで万華鏡作りを学んだ高林千稔さん。 ナップ夫妻の哲学である「一切の妥協を許さない品質へのこだわり」を正統に受け継ぐ、誠実で質の高い万華鏡です。 "Iris Wood" This special collaboration piece showcases the delicate glass undulations and vivid colors of glass artist Motohiro Sato’s signature work, "Iris," beautifully reimagined by Chitoshi Takabayashi through the counter-medium of premium wood. In stark contrast to the original brilliant glass barrel, this version completely transforms the atmosphere of "Iris" by enveloping it in the rich warmth and organic texture of natural wood. The glass object cell crafted by Motohiro Sato produces fresh, aqueous colors as if imbued with water, harmonizing beautifully with this chic exterior to exude a deep, sophisticated presence. The exquisite wooden body showcases a striking contrast of three distinct premium woods: aromatic Palo Santo, rich reddish Bubinga, and a precise accent line of Red Oak. We invite you to rotate the entire body in your hands to appreciate the seamless transition of these beautiful wood grains. Crafted by Chitoshi Takabayashi, who studied the art of kaleidoscope making directly under the legendary American masters, Sherry and Randy Knapp, before their retirement.
